The disease has affected the entire world negatively in various ways. On a lighter note though, Jo-Anne Reyneke is not happy with the name “Coronavirus’. She shared a hilarious video on Instagram not happy that the pandemic shares a name with the Corona beer, which according to her is a favorite with light skinned men. She even suggested that the virus could have been named after “bad” things like McDonald and Coca Cola.

One might wonder how the name came about. Although the name coronavirus caused a bit of confusion at the start of the current health crisis, this virus is in no way related to the beer. Rather, the pathogen got its name due to the spiky crown (or corona in Latin) that you can see on its surface when you take a look at it underneath a microscope.
