Disney Channel’s Girl Meets World newest BFF’s on school and friendship!
Girl Meets World is set in New York City, and tells the wonderfully funny, heartfelt stories that “Boy Meets World” is renowned for – only this time from a girl’s perspective – as the curious and bright 7th grader Riley (Rowan Blanchard) and her quick-witted BFF Maya (Sabrina Carpenter) embark on an unforgettable middle school experience.

What does school mean to you, Rowan?
Rowan: School is much more important to me than acting and a lot of other things in my life because I want to go to a great university when I’m older. I love school. I think it’s something that’s very, very important in life.
Sabrina: School is very important to me. It’s great to learn! I really want to be street smart and book smart – and I want to know the answers to a lot of questions about life.
Have you ever struggled to make friends at school?
Rowan: School can be tough and making friends isn’t always easy. My advice to anyone in that situation is to always be yourself and you will attract people who like you for who you are. Just persevere and good things will come.
Sabrina: I’ve been home-schooled for the past couple of years, but I did go to school before that. I’m very social, so I wouldn’t say it was tough for me to make friends – but sometimes it’s hard to meet the right people. Sometimes you worry that people aren’t going to like you, but it’s important to know that you’ll find the right people in the end.
What advice would you give to people who are struggling to make friends at school?
Rowan: I have personally experienced this, so I know exactly what it feels like. If you’re struggling to make friends, I think it’s important to stand up for yourself. Don’t let anybody treat you badly, but search out people with the same interests as you. Keep at it!
Sabrina: Branch out a little bit and don’t be afraid to take chances. Say ‘hi’ to people because there’s a good chance they’ll say ‘hi’ back. Everyone is in the same boat and everyone is looking for a good friend. You’ve just got to find them.
What’s your top friendship tip?
Rowan: Loyalty is my top friendship tip. I hate it when people leave their friends for more popular people. You have to stay true to your friends that have always been there for you. Stick with your friends at all times. Loyalty is key!
Sabrina: A good friend should always be caring and trustworthy. Always be a good listener and be there for your friends. Never give up on them. Ever.
