Applications Open For The Stellenbosch University Educational Psychology Internship 2020. Stellenbosch University, the oldest South African university, is calling on promising psychology students to send in their application and qualify for its Educational Psychology Internship Programme for 2020.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Providing psychological assistance (e.g. counselling, psychometric tests, psychotherapy, career development, and academic counselling) to students, future students and Grade R-7 learners
  • Creating psychological reports
  • Presenting workshops
  • Conducting interviews
  • Performing other admin tasks
  • Participate in group and individual supervision
  • Conduct case presentations
  • Provide relevant research to back up casework

Requirements

Candidates who satisfy these minimum eligibility requirements are encouraged to apply for the internship position:

  • Holds a Master’s degree qualification in Educational Psychology
  • Must have completed a Career Counselling (at Master’s level
  • Working background in career counselling using a narrative approach
  • Familiar with the scientific-practical method in the development of important skills conducive to student success
  • Must have operational knowledge of Children’s Act 38 of 2005
  • Working experience in therapeutic intervention methods for parents and young children
  • Has a background in facilitating and compiling group work sessions
  • Must be registered with Health Professions Council of SA as an Educational Psychology intern upon acceptance to the programme
  • Proficient with computers
  • Able to work within a team in a high-pressure work environment
  • Able to commit to a fixed schedule and deliver quality results within a structured work setting
