Job Summary
Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill the position of Junior Engineer, based at Bentley Park near Carletonville. The successful candidate will report to the Maintenance System Manager.
Key Responsibilities
• Assisting the Maintenance System Manager in keeping the company maintenance system data fresh, accurate, and useful for on-site maintenance staff
• Building her/his knowledge to become a TMMM expert, ultimately to carry the Engineers Mine Health and Safety Act responsibility for a fleet of plant on a mechanized project
• Provide expert assistance over the telephone to site TMMM maintenance personnel
Key Requirements
• Working on motor cars and/or diesel engines
• Passion for getting to the root cause of how things happen/work
• Producing reports from computerized data
• Checking that information makes sense when looking at documents
• Passionate about engines, hydraulic systems and performance of vehicles; hands on skills
• Computer literate – Excel macros; extraction of information out of databases; report writing
• Self motivated, able to beat deadlines
• Able to demonstrate technical problem solving approaches
• Detail orientated and analytical approach to data analysis
• Strong verbal and engineering communication skills to be able to daily get daily maintenance information from project sites
• Physically fit to go underground, able to meet client security clearance requirements
• Valid Driver’s Licence
Education
• BSc Mechanical Engineer/National Higher Diploma (Mechanical)
