Introduction
The abovementioned vacancy exists in the Sales and Leasing division, based in Durban. The successful incumbent will be responsible for interacting and building relationships with existing and new clients in order to identify business opportunities which will lead to concluding new sales and leasing business for Grindrod Intermodal.
Minimum Requirements
• Valid Grade 12 certificate.
• Fully computer literate.
• An in depth understanding of the freight and container leasing markets and a sound knowledge of all GIM’s products and services.
• Ability to prioritise and plan work, handle a diversity of tasks simultaneously, meet deadlines consistently.
• Demonstrate the ability to be decisive and tenacious.
• Ability to relate effectively with people at all levels and demonstrate integrity and a well-developed communication skills both verbally and written.
• Should have the ability to be a persuasive communicator yet display a professional service ethic.
• Display sound business acumen and innovative thinking.
• Good knowledge of GIM’s tariff methodology and familiar with all elements of quoting rates including margins, mark-ups and preferential structures.
• Good knowledge of GIM’s service providers and their commercial agreements and policies.
• Sound computer skills.
• Possess sound financial and commercial insight as well as demonstrate good analytical skills.
• Clear ITC and criminal checks.

Research and analyse the containers sales and rental opportunities and product flow by means of quotations, lost clients, competitor activities and research of all types of public domain.
