Sharepoint Administrator Job

Job description

Environment: This Cape Town based company is looking for a SharePoint administrator to join their team. A relevant IT tertiary qualification and Microsoft Certifications; two years’ experience working with SharePoint directly; proven extensive hands on experience in Windows 2008 R2 Server and its product suite; extensive knowledge of Microsoft IIS, load balancing and other web technologies related to hosting SharePoint Web Farms; knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory, Active Directory Trusts and working with trusted domains in SharePoint.
Duties:

  • Maintain 99.9% up-time on all SharePoint infrastructures.
  • Daily administration of SharePoint infrastructure.
  • Proactively initiate and facilitate SharePoint requirements gathering within each team in the company.
  • Interpret requirements and develop project plan with accurate timelines for implementation.
  • Develop working solutions from these project requirements and implement them within given timelines.
  • Provide training and handover to relevant teams, empowering them to continue independently and ensure active daily use of solution.
    • Training and development of IT Support team, to reduce daily administration work load.
    • Migrate existing SharePoint 2007 environment to a highly available SharePoint 2013 solution.
    • Ensure SharePoint access control is configured in such a way as to adequately empower staff, while negating any risk of unintentional access or damage to systems.

 

Requirements:

  • A relevant Information Technology tertiary qualification and Microsoft Certifications.
  • Five years working experience in the Information Technology industry using Microsoft Technologies.
  • Two years’ experience working with SharePoint directly.
  • Previous development experience would be advantageous.
  • Previous experience in 24/7 e-commerce environment.
  • Proven extensive hands on experience in Windows 2008 R2 Server and its product suite.
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft IIS, Load Balancing and other web technologies related to hosting SharePoint Web Farms.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory, Active Directory Trusts and working with trusted domains in SharePoint.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, T-SQL Programming.
  • Project management skills with proven experience in handling big system migrations.
