Scope & General PurposeWithin the limits of La Residence’s policies and procedures, assist with overseeing and directing all aspects of Front Office operations. Live and work by the Royal Portfolio purpose and value statement: “To give guests a complete experience and a perfect stay.”Main Duties & ResponsibilitiesTo ensure that the P&V statement is constantly being lived, respected and observed.The smooth running of daily Front office activities.Ensuring that front office staff are working according to their checklists.To build and maintain a strong culture within the Front Office department.To ensure that Front Office staff are operating with maximum efficiency.To continuously improve on the standard of Front OfficeTo ensure that the front office/concierge is manned at all times.To maintain communication with housekeeping to ensure that guest rooms are constantly being refreshed.To maintain communication with security and to inform all departments of guest movement as necessary.To ensure that daysheets are accurately maintained so that all departments are aware of their responsibilities for the dayTo ensure that all guest concierge requirements are being met and exceeded.To ensure that staff are being given the opportunity to improve their knowledge and skill set through training coursesThe proper maintenance and care of all Front office stock and assets.To ensure that FO areas are being immaculately maintained at all times.To ensure that extras are accurately charged to guest accounts.To set goals for the department and follow through to achieve them.To ensure that curio stock levels are properly maintaineTo ensure that proper ambience is maintained in FO.To ensure that the switchboard is manned at all times and that staff are practicing the correct telephone etiquette.To ensure that hotel stationary is being ordered and maintained as necessary.To perform monthly curio stock take and to report back on variances.To hold regular departmental meetings to facilitate proper communication.To ensure that senior management are kept abreast of any important information.Key Result Areas:Fanatical Adherence to the Company Purpose and Values.Guest SatisfactionFO cleanliness, maintenance and ambience Salary:R6500 basic50 % contribution towards company Medical AidCommission on Curio SalesExperience & Qualifications:2-3 Experience in a similar environment & positionKnowledge of Opera will be an advantageDiploma in HospitalityWorking HoursShift work required
