Kuli Roberts Recalls The Day Her Landlord Kicked Her Out Because She Is Black. When it comes to racial issues in this country, we have come far, and still have a long way to go. Even just getting married to a person from a different race can bring major problems for you. Case in point being Kuli Roberts who got married to Beyers Roberts in 1990. The two later divorced following irreconcilable differences.

The media personality, journalist and actress, took to Twitter to share one sad incident when they were still a couple. The family was kicked out of their rented house in Muizenburg in the late 90s. It turns out the landlord’s wife didn’t appreciate a Black Mrs Roberts, as Kuli put it. Sadly that time, Kuli was heavily pregnant with their son Leaun, while their daughter Tembela was just a toddler.

“I remember being kicked out of a rented house in Muizenburg in the late 90s while pregnant, mit a toddler and husband. The wife didn’t appreciate a Black, Mrs Roberts, so told us to move out. My ex hubby was livid, daughter playing with ducks and I was heavily pregnant and eDrum,” Kuli said.
