Not having a drivers’ license is a barrier to entry in the job market. For some people, particularly those in rural areas or those who are poverty stricken the drivers license hurdle is insurmountable. Coega has had no choice but to recognize this gap and move to close it.

The pioneering Driver Training Programme is a flagship project for the Coega Development Corporation, making in-roads into rural communities and assisting the poverty stricken who do not have access to obtain this basic skill.

The training is provided free of charge and registered candidates will be responsible for payment of all fees requested from the Traffic Department with regard to booking of tests and issuing of licences.
