Inside Bryoni Govender’s Farewell Party to Miss Universe Pageant. Mirror mirror on the wall, who is the fairest of them all. At this particular moment is our very own beauty queen, Bryoni Govender.
On Sunday, August 13, 2023 Bryoni’s life changed forever when she was crowned as the 1st runner up of Miss South Africa in front of multitudes at the SunBet Arena in Pretoria. She will represent the “Rainbow Nation” at the 72nd Miss Universe in El Salvador. The 26 year old beauty queen and model, who hails from Kempton Park in Gauteng is a qualified lawyer. She is working as a trainee associate, whilst awaiting admission to become an attorney. She regards Aishwarya Rai as one of her role models and the one person she would like to meet.
Now Bryoni has one of the biggest tasks ahead of her. In just a couple of weeks, she will be walking on yet another big ramp. Bryoni will be representing South Africa on the Miss Universe stage in El Salvador, where the pageant will be held. A few days ago, her farewell party was held. Among the attendees was her family as well as her footballer boyfriend, Samir Nurković. Miss SA 2023 Natasha Joubert held it down as the MC for the day.
At the event, Bryoni also gt to show off the beautiful dresses she will be competing rocking. One of her gowns is designed by Willet Designs Couture and inspired by the Indian national bird the peacock. He also designed her preliminary and finale gown that she will rock on the stage.
Bryoni’s exquisite national costume is an African-Indian fusion and a celebration of her heritage. It was inspired by a sari and is adorned with traditional Zulu beads in a pattern inspired by an Ndebele print.
