“Who Decides What’s Appropriate?” Mamokgethi Phakeng Fires Shots At Her Dress Sense Critic

“Who Decides What’s Appropriate?” Mamokgethi Phakeng Fires Shots At Her Dress Sense Critic. She never catches a break on these social media streets. From being accused of incompetency to her personal life attacked, Professor Mamokgethi Phakeng always has to defend herself.

Although, she is normally a joyful person, the year hasn’t been an easy one for her. After immense pressure, Phakeng had to take an early retirement as Vice chancellor of the University of Cape Town. She is alleged to have received a R12m settlement as package. The early retirement took effect as from 1 April 2023.

Having left her job as a vice chancellor did not anyway stop her from enjoying her life. Phakeng took her lover for leisure activities to greater heights. She went out more, and shared her activities on social media. A couple of months ago, the professor went hiking up Table Mountain. She shared a couple of pictures and videos, which had many applauding her for her youthful approach to life.

One individual though, decided to burst her bubble, asking the professor what her kids think of such. Phakeng did not hold back, unleashing a hectic clap back.

Bathi I must feel liberated from the shackles of societal mores; I must forge my own path and eschew the confining standards of ethicality. They also advise me to avert deviants who, in their lascivious fervor, desecrate a pure video showing excitement after a tough hike. They tell me they don’t expect me to post myself in church uniform to appease the likes of Dr Sunrise.”

This time around she posted a picture of herself and a friend revealing a tiny nit of her stomach. One of netizen then responded that middle aged women should not show off their belly buttons.

To which Phakeng responded, “Who decides what’s appropriate and what’s not?

She also fetched another one real quick.
