Responsibilities

The Prosecutors’ primary function is to conduct prosecutions and attend to matters incidental thereto. Prosecutors are the gatekeeper of criminal law.
They represent public interest in the criminal justice process.
When carrying out their duties, Prosecutors should at all times comply with the Code of Conduct and observe policy directives as provided for in the National Prosecuting Authority Act, 32 of 1998.
