Graduate Engineer Opportunity at WSP

Responsibilities

KEY ROLE:

Conducts assignments in the Mechanical Building Services (Wet Services and Fire) field.

Plans, organises and controls projects and makes recommendations on alternate solutions to engineering problems.

Prepares and presents technical reports, designs, institutes changes in methods or equipment.

THE RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS POSITION INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

•Client liaison;
•Project scoping and scope monitoring;
•Design (conceptual design), based on client requirements and specifications;
•Flow calculations;
•Specialist equipment specifications;
•Formulation of Bills of Quantities (BOQ’s)
oDrafting tender documents and managing of the tender process
oContractor and contract management (mechanical discipline)
oQuality control
oCost control (related to mechanical design only)
oTrouble shooting on existing installations;
•Site Supervision and construction monitoring.

Requirements

KNOWLEDGE / QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

•Must have a B.Tech / B Eng / BSc in Mechanical or Civil Engineering;
•No working experience needed.

GENERIC SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS

•Code B drivers licence (preferably own car);
•Must be self-motivated and have a good attitude;
•A self-starter who can run with and manage his own projects with the guidance of a senior engineer;
•Must have a questioning and inquisitive mind.
