DJ Fresh On Why He Left YFM. The media industry has the most unsecure jobs ever. One day you are in, the next day you are shown the door. Just a few days ago former eNCA political journalist Samkele Maseko was booted out of the 24-hour news channel.
He talked about how unethical the eNCA’s news chief, Kanthan Pillay, was when he fired him on a tweet that went viral. Many people in the industry concurred with Maseko’s tweet narrating their own experiences. Veteran radio host DJ Fresh also spoke about his experience with Kanthan Pillay and what let him to leave the station.
“His becoming hands on at YFM was the reason I jumped ship, and why it was so easy to leave!!! He is not a nice person at all,” Fresh said.
Another media personality Thando Thabethe also opened up about her experience with Pillay. “Didn’t get to serve my notice at Y, or even do 1 more show after letting them know I got offered a show on 5, got told to leave immediately!!!! Further got told to leave Club 808 immediately.”
