SA Celebrities We Have Lost In 2019. Here today, gone tomorrow. Each year we get robbed of talented personalities who have put our names on the map. Just the past week, we got the sad news that actor Andile Gumbi and radio veteran Xolani Gwala have passed away.

Friday morning South Africa woke up to the sad news that seasoned broadcaster Xolani Gwala has died. Xolani lost his battle to colon cancer which he came open about it in 2017.

Andile Gumbi

Andile Gumbi shocked many when it was announced he has passed away last week. The actor suffered a heart attack while working in Israel, and died a few days after.

Thami Sobede

September 2019 was a lot for SA. Among the saddest thing was the untimely death of talented singer and Idols finalist Thami Shobede. He passed away after spending a few days in hospital.

Johnny Clegg

The legendary Johnny Clegg passed away in July. Clegg succumbed to his four year battle with pancreatic cancer. His family maintained their privacy during this trying time, and he was buried a day after he passed in a private funeral.

David Kekana

Popular SABC sports analyst and anchor David Kekana passed away in August. The veteran journalist passed away after a prolonged battle with diabetes.

Dan Tshanda

Dan Tshanda died early this year after suffering from heart failure. He was the brains behind Dalom Music and the Splash hit machine, that had a number of musicians that include Patricia Majalisa, Dalom Kids, Matshikos and Peacock, among others.

Matwetwe lead actor Sibusiso Khwinana was stabbed to death in Pretoria a few months ago. The upcoming talented actor became another statistic of crime when he lost his life to petty thieves who were after his phone
