It’s Not Often An Asian Girl Makes A Cover,” Lalla Hirayama On Her Latest Magazine Cover. South Africa is called a Rainbow Nation, simply because of it’s diversity when it comes to culture. But here and there, the country still needs to works on issues of inclusivity. There are times when other races feel left out on certain opportunities, more so in the entertainment industry.

There are some people who despite coming from what many may deem as a minority race, are making it big i this industry. One such is Lalla Hirayama, who is Japanese—South African. Lalla was born in Hiratsuka to a Japanese mother and a South African father. The talented television host, actress, dancer and model has made a name for herself in the industry. This without a doubt gives hope to those who feel their race is sidelined, that they can be anything they want to be.

Lalla has just bagged herself a magazine cover, and we are here for her success. She is on the cover of GLAMOUR’S Winter edition 2021. On the issue, Lalla speaks about hosting the new YouTube series titled, Sharing the Sun. The 13-part web series, which debuted on YouTube in April, takes an exciting look at the deep and mutually beneficial relationship that has blossomed between South Africa and Japan. It also explores the long-standing relationship between the Land of the Rising Sun and sunny South Africa.
