Job Purpose

  • The manager maintenance monitoring Unit will provide an efficient service to fleet customers and merchants by providing them with professional advice and authorisations relating to their fleet of vehicles and the maintenance thereof. By managing the maintenance costs effectively, the vehicle running costs are to be minimised and covers:
  • Identification of trends and methodology of solving the technical issues
  • Interaction with vehicle manufacturers and ensuring policy claims are entertained thereby reducing costs
  • Identifying and streamlining internal processes and workflow and
  • The job exists due to vehicles having to be maintained and repaired and a specialist department employing high calibre and qualified technical staff who make use of a sophisticated computer system interact with merchants to obtain cost effective repairs with suitable and acceptable warranty parameters

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing the technical staff consisting of maintenance controllers
  • Managing the call flow ensuring that calls are answered in acceptable time limits as set out
  • Managing the quality of authorisations and quantity that are issued by each controller daily
  • Analysing the call centre statistics and constant planning on the resources available
  • Determining the future IT requirements required and prioritizing work requests and incidents that are detected
  • Planning the operational capacity
  • Internal CSI ratings of 90%
  • External CSI of 90%
  • Interaction with senior management at customer level in terms of technical concerns and the provision of solution driven suggestions

Qualifications and Experience

Certifications Yes No
Qualified Motor Technician with 5 years experience in the motor related industry   x

 

A minimum of 5 years experience at a reputable or franchise dealer group is essential

A trade certificate in the field of a qualified motor technician is essential

A full understanding of warranty systems and the various motor manufacture warranty offerings are essential

Technical courses offered by the franchise dealer groups would be an advantage

Logical thinking

High degree of negotiation skills

Analytical but practical
