Pick ‘n Pay Retailers Trainee Buyer

If you are a dynamic individual with a Diploma / Degree in Fashion, Clothing Management or similar, a flair and passion for fashion and a team player looking to start your career as a Trainee Buyer and grow within a well established clothing retailer, Pick n Pay Clothing – this is the perfect career opportunity for you!

This is a junior position, and experience is not essential. We are looking for someone with a keen interest in fashion trends around the world to join our buying team, consisting of a Buyer, Planner and Allocator. We need your creative input and sound business sense to continue to grow our business, keeping it aligned with international standards.

The ideal candidate will have the following competencies:

•Ability:
– work with the buying administration system
– apply best practice in buying
– assess quotations
– communicate with suppliers and clients
– investigate margins and take corrective action
– negotiate with suppliers
– place purchasing orders
– work independently

•Experience:
– buying
– supplier negotiation

•Knowledge:
– industry standards
– buying policy and practice
– consumer needs
– import and export markets
– the manufacturing industry
– the supply chain
