On her maiden speech on the SONA Debate, she called on Cyril Ramaphosa to give incarcerated students a presidential pardon.
Patricia de Lille
Patricia de Lille has done a lot as a woman in politics. Among her biggest achievements, she was Provincial Leader of the Democratic Alliance in the Western Cape and also served as the mayor of Cape Town. She was re-elected to a 2nd term as mayor in the 2016 local government elections. In 2008 the DA’s Federal Executive ceased De Lille’s party membership, and she was removed as mayor of the DA governed city. She is now the Minister of Public Works and Infrastructure and leader of the political party Good.

Busisiwe Mkhwebane has served as the Public Protector since 2016. Although she is not a politician herself, her job involves investigation top politicians, including the president himself. Currently Mkhwebane has deepened her investigation into President Cyril Ramaphosa’s campaign funds. On the other hand though, opposition parties feel she should step down as she is not doing a good job.
Zindzi Mandela
Zindzi Mandela’s recent tweets are shaking things up in the local political arena. She divided the country into two in her response to Steve Hofmeyr’s tweet. In the post, Hofmeyr said: “When you come to take our lives and land, you will die.” Mandela’s comments sparked widespread outrage after she tweeted that apartheid apologists’ time was over and that they would not rule again. Zindzi is currently serving as her country’s ambassador to Denmark.
