Job description

Job purpose:
To identify publicity opportunities and to develop and maintain excellent relationships with relevant media in order to ensure maximum publicity for the titles distributed by Nu Metro Home Entertainment.

Job responsibilities:
Home Entertainment
• Creation of monthly schedule to service applicable media
• Ordering of review copies for media outlets
• Timeous provision of materials, including viewing samples, to relevant media when applicable
• Liaise with all the media, i.e. TV, radio, print, magazine, internet in order to secure maximum exposure for Home Entertainment releases
• Control monthly costs and budgets
• Setting up and managing media promotions
• Provide, plan/create strategy for specific releases in terms of media exposure and publicity
• Write effective press releases and be able to get these into the necessary outlets
• Compiling of publicity reports with press clippings and values on a monthly basis

Films:
• General office and administrative duties in support of the publicity department
• Maintain close working ties with marketing department
• Updating of publicity website across both Home Entertainment and Nu Metro Films
• Develop and maintain excellent relationships with relevant media and have a finger on the pulse of what is happening in the media world

  • A degree in Economics. A postgraduate degree in Economics will be an added advantage
  • 3 years’ professional experience performing economic analysis, modelling activities, researching, compiling, analysing, interpreting and preparing data on socioeconomic conditions
  • A valid driver’s licence
  • Competence in research conceptualisation and methodologies, as well as in monitoring systems and procedures
  • Project management skills
  • Knowledge of Government planning processes and reporting mechanisms
